Sword & Shield Simulator Cart Priority
A salvage order for a wagon that cannot carry everything and a smelter that pays by weight.
The cart is the silent boss of Sword & Shield Simulator. The store page says it cannot carry everything. Reviews say loot falls out, wheels take damage from ghosts, and a pretty haul becomes two bars. This tool is a pick order. Use it on every battlefield and wood run. The long why lives in How to Get Materials.
Load order
- Dense broken swords and thick armour plates. Smelter weight. This is the haul.
- Coal and iron ore if you are already on a vein. Fuel and default metal beat souvenirs.
- Cupronickel if you actually see it. Rare. One stack. Do not dump the cart for a maybe.
- Marked wood for the next shield or handle job. Only if shields or handles are the bottleneck.
- A few helmets if space remains. Thin hats are low weight. They are filler, not the plan.
- Never: random trophies, extra carcasses, quest-looking meshes you cannot identify. Hunting piles have duplicated. Quest meshes have vanished. Leave them.
If the wagon is full before step 4, go home. A second trip is cheaper than a broken wheel in Bloodlands.
While you drive
- Treat both wheels as fragile. Players reported damage from rocks they did not hit.
- Repair when the option exists. Do not start a Grainmill marker on a limping axle.
- If gear falls out and disappears, stop stacking. That is a bug. Save. See Performance and Bugs.
- If the quest says move and the cart will not, this list will not help. That is travel or a soft lock. How to Travel Regions.
- Clipping a guard with the wagon should now open a talk, not a cell. That is Day One Patch 1.0.26.08.12.3. If you still wake up behind bars from a bump, update, then test. Lockpicking and prison.
Unload order at the forge
- Unique or quest-looking pieces into a chest, not the smelter.
- Dense scrap into the smelter while you watch the click. Ghost meshes get a reload, not a mash.
- Wood to the shield or handle pile.
- Coal to the furnace bin.
- Empty the cart. Piles on the floor are how deer and helmets become scenery.
Then run the forge checklist. A full cart that never becomes a ground blade is just a museum on wheels.
What this tool is not
It is not a weight formula. The studio has not posted kilogram tables. “Dense first” is the honest version of their own smelter-weight note. If a patch adds numbers, we will add a column. Until then, your eyes and the two-bar surprise from reviews are the teacher.
Keep the Tools Hub for both lists. Keep Danburg as the unload point. Keep one spare keeper sword at home so a lost wagon is not a lost gate. The cart is how the war enters the shop. Load it like a smith, not like a tourist.
A one-field example
You see six helmets, two broken long swords, a stack of thin bracers, and a marked tree. Take the swords. Take the tree only if handles or boards are empty at home. Leave four helmets. Leave the bracers. If cupronickel is sitting in the mud, swap out a helmet for it. Drive home before the wheels argue. Smelt the swords. That field was a success even if it looked empty on the thumbnail. The other field, where you took everything and arrived with a broken axle and two bars, was the tourist run. Forge checklist next. How to Get Materials if you want the lecture. This page is only the order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Should I pick up every helmet?
No. Helmets are light. Take them only after dense metal and fuel.
What if I find a unique-looking sword?
Keep it out of the smelter until you know it is not a quest piece. Chest first.
Is hunting worth cart space?
Only if a quest is explicit. Day One added a deer-meat preview; it did not declare duplicate carcass piles dead. See the hunting guide.
The cart is full and I still see ore. Now what?
Go home. Smelt. Come back. A second trip beats a broken wheel.
