Updates Hub

Sword & Shield Simulator is in Early Access. The exe will move. This hub is the changelog brain of the wiki: roadmap for the promised full version, patch notes for what already hit demo and launch. Read them before you assume a bug on this wiki is still live, and before you assume Talstein is a place you can walk.

If you need to play tonight, the Guides Hub and Performance and Bugs matter more. If you need to decide whether to wait, the Early Access review plus this hub is the pair.

How we treat dates

The Early Access start is 11 August 2026. The studio’s own estimate for staying in Early Access is about three to six months. That is an estimate. It can slip. We will not invent a 1.0 calendar.

The live numbered build after launch is Day One Patch 1.0.26.08.12.3: prison wait, cart-guard dialogue instead of a cell, chisel duplication gone, quest markers on Bloodlands and Grainmill, keybinds that save, item prices on the UI. Older demo notes still cover UI pointer, Performance Mode FPS, workbench persistence, and cart-exit input. Launch-week reviews still found stuck quests and ghost items. Both facts can be true. A fix can regress. Check the newest Steam news and our patch notes before you write a eulogy for your cart.

What “full version” means on paper

Talstein as the large region, more story missions, town hall, cathedral, arena, market, thieves’ guild as a place, alchemist, goldsmith, bastion fight, siege machine, cutscenes. Higher-tier sword parts. A deeper mine and mixture system. More hunting. That list is the roadmap. It is not in your current three-region build.

How to use this hub after a patch

  1. Read Steam news.
  2. Skim our patch notes page once we fold that news in.
  3. Test the hammer click and one travel route before a long session.
  4. Only then smelt unique parts.

The Map Hub already has a Talstein page that says planned, not playable. The Items Hub will gain higher-tier parts when they are real. Until then, this hub is the honesty valve. Do not let a trailer from 2024 override a 2026 news post. Do not let a news post override the save you forgot to copy.

Sibling pages

Roadmap is the promise. Patch notes is the proof. If you only read promises, you will wait for a cathedral while your cart is still stuck. If you only read patches, you will miss that higher-tier pommels are not supposed to exist yet. Read both. Then go hammer something. The Early Access review will move when the proof catches the promise. This hub is just the index so those two URLs stay next to each other in the nav.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there a 1.0 date?

No public fixed date. The studio estimated roughly three to six months of Early Access.

Where do official notes live?

Steam news and Discord. This wiki summarises. Always prefer the latest official post.

Should I wait for Talstein?

If you want the large region and higher-tier parts, yes. If you want to test the forge loop, the current three regions are the product.
